It’s 2019 and so much has changed not only personally but musically, artistically, and professionally. 2018 seemed to be a difficult year for a lot of people, myself included. I have entered 2019 with good intentions and will make them my reality. One of my first goals on my list is to let myself be me. I don’t have to fit the expectations of others to be taken seriously as an artist and musician. My body doesn’t define me but I am going to take control of its flaws and use them to better me. I can be brutal and beautiful, loud and proud, silly but taken seriously, feminine and fierce, dark and happy.
I think in one way or another we are all walking contradictions and that is because nothing is black and white, merely shades of grey. The human experience is far too complex to say one thing or person has to be this or that to be ‘authentic’. Not that there’s anything wrong with authenticity, rather I just want to be more open to the new and unique ideas being presented. I am authentically me as I can be, but it doesn’t mean that personal authenticity can’t change or evolve to something different or better. Then again I suppose it’s all subjective. What a magical and chaotic life we all lead. This witch has been practicing transfiguration and my metamorphosis has yet to be completed. I am looking forward to meeting who I’ll become by 2020, those numbers sound like magic and I feel a shift in my own universe. A witch in color arrives. Blessed be friends, blessed be.
